The Story of Faust
Skottes Musikteater (Gävle, Sweden)
Based on 16th-century material, this new musical comedy by children´s-theatre veteran Hans Kellerman features a timeless puppet company struggling with the original Faust tale.
It is performed in English by Hans Kellerman, Mats Jadin and Ove Zacco Andersson of the long-established Skottes Musikteater of Gävle, Sweden.
In 2015, The Story of Faust was on the program of the Edinburgh Fringe Edinburghnews.scotsman.com wrote: "On entering the auditorium, we´re greeted with our first sight of an extraordinary musical theatrical contraption, full of detail including a tiny skeleton band, it provides set, special effects and musical accompaniment for the show. The puppet is wonderful. Ingenious, full of personality, lovely attention to detail and colourful imagination [...] The three multi-talented puppeteers are also musicians, using a keyboard, violin, two lutes and a handful of jaunty songs to aid the storytelling."
