3 Sisters, A Brother, A Soldier and his Lover

Subtext Theatre (Colchester, England)

If Chekhov wrote a comedy musical, this is what it might have looked like! A sexy little musical packed with subtle, and not so subtle innuendo, we take a peep at what some of Chekhov's best known characters might have been really thinking and feeling! Three frustrated sisters, Ulga, Masha and Irena dream of Moscow, and men.Their life turns upside with the arrival of a good-looking Russian Soldier, much to the distress of Masha bumbling, boring husband.

With over 100 cheeky Chekhov references and jokes, a subtle nod towards current Russian politics this play bounces from joke to song to innuendo and keeps you laughing until the tragic end.

The show has a fantastic musical score from Scott Morgan, whose recent work includes, ‘Geek-A New Musical’ (Tristan Bates Theatre) and 'The Prince' (Arts Theatre London)

This hilarious production has something for everyone - whether you’re a Chekhov buff or not!
